Nonprofit Focus
Nonprofit Focus brings together guest speakers, panels, workshops, and information sessions from an array of nonprofits that include public advocacy, human rights, education, health and much more. Nonprofit Focus increases exposure of students to a range of careers and considerations in the industry, while providing Employer Partners with the opportunity to connect with Barnard's exceptional student body.
From advocacy to direct service, large organizations to small: we’ll take a close look at this mission-driven sector. Bring your questions about typical internships and entry level roles, hiring processes and timetables, and the rewards and challenges of working in the nonprofit field.

Please join representatives from the New York Legal Assistance Group for an interactive panel covering our civil legal services; outreach and community based initiatives; and our mission being an anti-racism anti-poverty organization. Nonprofit Focus: The Center for Reproductive Rights | Friday, March 29, 11:00am - 12:00pm
In 2022, the US Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, setting off a cascade of devastating consequences. In the global fight for abortion access and reproductive rights, the stakes have never been higher. The Center for Reproductive Rights is fighting to enshrine reproductive rights into law, in the US and around the world, to protect access to critical health care and carve out the legal right to bodily autonomy.
Join Center staff for an interactive panel on the organization's programmatic, legal, and communications work. Staff members will share insights about working at a nonprofit and in the reproductive rights movement, how their work furthers the mission of the organization, and how their own academic and professional journeys led them to this work.
